She was able to utilize her passion for helping others to know Christ and understand their purpose as she discipled women in her role as Chaplain. Some of them have gone on to become elders, ministers, ministry leaders, as well as pastors. Following her chaplaincy, Rev. Carr embraced the opportunity to join the staff of First Baptist Church of Glenarden where she continues to serve as Director of the Business Services Department, Contract Administrator and as an Associate Pastor. She utilizes her administrative, leadership, ministerial and ministerial gifts as she leads her staff, preaches and teaches in churches, conferences, and seminars, serves as a part of the prison ministry, directs and teaches a global weekly study of the Women Connecting with Christ Ministry, leads the Noon Service ministerial staff team, and serves on the annual He Loves Me Women’s Conference Creative Team.
Rev. Lettie Moses Carr, Esq. is a graduate of Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts, and the University of Michigan Law School. She began ministerial training by completing the Church of the Great Commission Ministers’ Institute, Camp Springs, Maryland as well as the Church of the Redeemed Bible Institute, within the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women, which she co-founded and served as its first President and help to obtain Evangelical Training Association Accreditation. She is enrolled in a master’s program at Dallas Theological Seminary. After practicing law for 10 years, God graced Rev. Carr to serve 22 years as the Administrative Chaplain of the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women, the State’s only maximum security women’s institution where she oversaw all religious services, including 12 faith groups, and over 300 volunteers while continuing to preach, teach and serve as the Elder over Evangelism at the Church of the Great Commission.
God has used her to establish Whosever Believes Ministries with a daily podcast and a social media platform, with an international community, where posts devotionals and is able to disciple people. She is the author of the Word of the Day, a 365 Day Devotional. She is often blessed to participate in missions, affording her the opportunity to preach and teach in various nations, while continuing to mentor numerous people from lay persons to ordained ministers. She is married and blessed to be the mother of two adult children.
